Tarragona hosted the 8th “Viles Florides” Forum on May 9th, focused on resilient management of green spaces in times of change, organized by the Confederation of Ornamental Horticulture of Catalonia (CHOC).
The flagship event of “Viles Florides”, a meeting point for all stakeholders involved in the project, took place at the Tarragona Trade Fair and Congress Centre, featuring insightful reflections on urban space management and including the following presentations:
– Sustainable management of urban greenery: A manual of best practices challenging historical clichés in gardening, presented by Xavier Fàbregas.
– Presentation of the Guide for the Environmental Adaptation of the Mediterranean Resilient Garden, by Jorge Muñiz.
– Panel discussion on success stories and best practices promoted by municipalities participating in the movement, led by the Jury of the “
The day concluded with a technical visit to the Francolí Park, where participants learned about the riverbed renaturalization project, the climate shelters within the park, and the management of this space in collaboration with the CET Foundation—an instrument for inclusion, integration, and citizen participation.
